The importance of cleaning your electronic cigarette properly

The base of the e-liquid is composed of propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin, in various dosages, which can be more or less thick. This can therefore clog your equipment, which damages the wick and the resistance. Although these consumables can be changed (generally every two months), it is recommended to clean your electronic cigarette regularly to preserve its performance and lifespan.

How to properly clean electronic cigarette?

At each change of liquid, unscrew and empty your cartridge well. To do this, place your atomizer on top of a paper towel and blow inside to evacuate the liquid. You can also do the same with the tip if it comes loose. This is a first dry cleaning, which may be enough once or twice. From time to time, clean your electronic cigarette with clear, hot water. Soak the atomizer (and the nozzle) for a few minutes in water, drain the water as much as possible using the dry cleaning technique, and then let it air dry for 24 to 48 hours.

This cleaning of the electronic cigarette is to be done as soon as you feel that your equipment loses efficiency and your vape in flavor. You can also dust off your mod occasionally with a small, soft brush or dry cotton swab. On the other hand, nothing to be expected on the battery side.

To limit maintenance

If you don’t want to have to clean your electronic cigarette too much, and especially if you want to be able to use it for a long time, it is important to take care of it. Avoid running the atomizer empty, and regularly check that the level of e-liquid is not too low. No need to want to “vape to the last drop”. Similarly, avoid overheating (unless you do a dry burn). Choose a suitable mod if you want to force the heat.

Also remember not to leave an atomizer containing liquid without using it to avoid clogging. If you want to pause your equipment, empty it and wash it completely. Finally, avoid shocks as much as possible, which could damage the atomizer and internal components, but also expose your equipment for too long to extreme temperatures (hot or cold).
